Skype - Finally a great phone company!

Earlier this year I downgraded my cell phone service and added skype. I switched to skype for a few reasons.

One reason was my ever increasing cell phone bill. When I started my own business doing freelance web development, my phone bill jumped in price. I was talking to more clients on my cell phone. Another reason was the my cell phone number was not a local number for most of my clients. By using skype I was able to get a local phone number for $30/year. It's a great price. That leads me to my next reason. Skype is free if you are calling anyone else on skype around the world. All phone calls in the US & Canada are covered by a monthly fee of about $3.00. If I want I can add an international plan for a very reasonable price too.

By downgrading my cell phone service I am able to save about $63 per month. In one year the fees will be $66 for skype. This means that I've paid for skype in one one month and saved about $726 per year from my cell phone bill. Not a bad deal.

The other nice feature to skype is the fact that you aren't confined to using your computer for calls. You can also get landline, wifi and cell type service with them.

I have been incredible happy with skype. I would recommend this service to anyone looking for better service at a reasonable price.
